Carlowitz, (Sremski Karlovci, Yugoslavia), Treaty of, concluded by 
Austria and Turkey on January 26, 1699, by which the  °Turkish 
Wars, which had lasted for 16 years, came to an end. Hungary and 
Transylvania fell to Austria.
