!!!Karlsbader Beschlüsse

Karlsbader Beschluesse, (Carlsbad Decrees), passed by  the Deutscher 
Bund  to safeguard the Metternich System against nationalistic 
activities and democratic ambitions: universities were put under 
strict government control, censorship was strengthened and an 
investigatory commission was set up; became ineffective in the 
Revolution of 1848.
