Catholic Lay Council, Austrian, founded in 1971 to coordinate 
apostolic activities of Austrian lay people; cooperates closely with 
the Austrian  Bishops' Conference; Members:  Katholische Aktion 
Oesterreichs (Catholic Action of Austria),  Arbeitsgemeinschaft 
Katholischer Verbaende (Federation of Catholic Associations) and other 
lay movements as well as two representatives of each diocese and 18 
representatives of public life.
