b. Izcani Noi, Romania (then Neu-Itzhang), Oct. 30, 1902, 
d. Vienna, June 30, 1980, composer; uncle of Dieter  Kaufmann. Lived 
in Austria from 1914, pupil of J.  Marx in Vienna. Member of the 
Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Awarded the Austrian State Prize in 1950.
