Kaufmann, Harald, b. Feldbach (Styria), Oct. 1, 1927, 
d. Graz (Styria), July 9, 1970, musicologist. Belonged to the 
group around the philosopher E. Weinhandl, greatly interested in the 
work of E. Bloch and T. W. Adorno; from 1947 music critic of the 
"Neue Zeit" in Graz. Founded the Institute of Evaluation Studies at 
the College of Music in Graz in 1967.
