!!!Khevenhüller, Ludwig Andreas Graf

b. Linz (Upper Austria), Nov. 30, 1683, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 26, 1744, field marshal. Fought under Prince 
Eugène in 1716/17 at Petrovaradin and Belgrade, and from 
1733-1737 in Italy. In 1737 became field marshal and in 1741 commander 
of the Austrian army; in the  War of the Austrian Succession in 1742 
K. repelled the Bavarians and the French and conquered Bavaria. Was 
also a military theoretician.

Dragoner-Regiment vorschreibe, 1727; Ideen vom Krieg, 1732; 
Kriegsregeln sowohl im Feld als in Festungen, 1756 (French 1771).
