Die Gemeinde Kirchdorf am Inn ist eine  landwirtschaftliche Gemeinde an der oberösterreichischen-bayrischen Grenze im Europareservat „Unterer Inn“. Kirchdorf am Inn wird erstmals urkundlich 1170 genannt.

Sehenswert sind unter anderem:

* Gotische Pfarr- (ehem. Wallfahrts-)kirche Maria Himmelfahrt (1484–89), Barockeinrichtung, Grabsteine (16./17. Jh.), Lourdes­kapelle (1901)
* Schloss Katzenberg (16. Jh., Hof mit Laubengängen, Barocköfen, Gebetbuchausstellung), Schlosskapelle mit reichem Stuck (1680)
* Aussichtsplattform am Innradwanderweg.
