Klaar, Adalbert, b. Vienna, Aug. 27, 1900, d. Klosterneuburg 
(Lower Austria), May 23, 1981, architect, studied house forms and 
types of settlement. 1946-1965 worked for the Federal Office for the 
Preservation of Monuments, from 1946 Professor at the University of 
Vienna, 1975 retirement from the academic chair. A pioneer in the 
study of historic settlement patterns and the determination of the age 
of historic buildings. Drew up maps on the age and state of repair of 
the buildings of 195 Austrian towns and large villages  Building Phase 
Plans.
