Klein Sankt Paul, Carinthia, market town in the district of St. Veit
an der Glan, alt. 633 m, pop. 2,419, area 68.56 km%%sup 2/%, in the
Goertschitz valley.-Substation in Wietersdorf, private small-scale
hydroelectric power station in Hornburg an der Goertschitz, cement
works, durain factory (pipe production), wood processing. - In
Kirchberg (small rural settlement east of the Goertschitz valley, in
the Saualpe mountains, cadastral district of the market town of Klein
Sankt Paul) there is a Romanesque-Gothic parish church (built between
1167- 1181) with Late Baroque high altar, Late Gothic gallery, Gothic
tower and Renaissance gravestone with coat of arms (1534). The
Romanesque-Late Gothic parish church in Wieting has painted vaults
(around 1620); nearby, on the western slope of the Saualpe mountains
there are ruins of the castles Gruenburg (first documented mention
1217), Hochhornburg (with Romanesque keep) and Niederhornburg.
Industrial and mining museum Lachitzhof with Celtic blast furnace,
museum in the substation of Wietersdorf; geological trail.
