!!!Kleinklein

Kleinklein, Styria, village in the district of Leibnitz, alt. 298 m,
in the lower Saggau valley, part of the municipality of Grossklein.
The small castle northwest of Kleinklein was the centre of a separate
cultural province of the Hallstatt culture called the Sulmtal-group,
and within a radius of 2 km there are 700 barrows. The nobility
was buried in so-called "princely graves" (up to 7 m high and
49 m wide) with valuable artifacts, e.g. bronze vessels with
ornaments and some with figurines; a death mask and 2 hands made from
bronze tin are the best known finds. Ottersbach Castle (built around
1616) near Kleinklein has richly ornated stucco ceilings (18%%sup th/%
 century).
