Klinger, Kurt, b. Linz (Upper Austria), July 11, 1928, poet, 
dramaturge, essayist, 1955-1958 dramaturge in Linz, 1960-1963 in 
Duesseldorf and Frankfurt, 1963/64 in Vienna and then again in 
Germany. 1975-1977 chief dramatic adviser at the Graz Schauspielhaus, 
1977 President of the Austrian Society for Literature, since 1978 has 
worked as a free-lance writer and journalist in Vienna. Co-publisher 
and editor of the magazine "Literatur und Kritik" ("Literature and 
Criticism"). Received the Austrian State Prize, 1955, and the Anton 
Wildgans Prize.
