!!!Klippenzone

Cliff Zone, name of geological zones in the Pre-alps, where stones, 
most of them other than limestone, originating from the Jurassic 
clearly stand out of the rolling hills and mountains of the flysch 
zone and the northern Vienna Basin. Due to their special stones each 
zone has a different name: the Gersten cliff zone (coal deposits), the 
Ybbsitz cliff zone, the cliff zone of St. Veit bei Wien (volcanic 
rocks and marine sediments and the Waschberg zone (Ernstbrunn 
limestone,  Falkenstein Mountains).
