b. Vienna, Nov. 28, 1905, 
d. Vienna, March 16, 1986, civil servant, bank director. Studied legal 
and political science and then worked for Oesterreichische 
Luftverkehrs AG and 1939-1945 for Lufthansa. Worked at the Ministry of 
Financial Affairs from 1946; services to the Austrian banking system, 
delegate to the International Monetary Fund, member of financial 
committees of the OECD and the World Bank in Washington. From 1962 
Director General of the Genossenschaftliche Zentralbank AG (today  
Raiffeisen Zentralbank Oesterreich AG), from 1969 Director General and 
1973-1978 President of the  Oesterreichische Nationalbank (Austrian 
Central Bank).
