Knall, Dieter, b. Brasov, Rumania (then Kronstadt), Aug. 24, 
1930, many years Secretary-General of the German Gustavus Adolphus 
Union, then (1976-1983) Superintendent of Styria, 1983-1995 Bishop of 
the Austrian Protestant Church, Augsburg Confession. Focused special 
attention on the ecumenical dimension of the church (developing 
relations with the Protestant minority churches in the new states of 
the former Austro-Hungarian monarchy) as well as on pastoral care.
