!!!Knapp, Johann Knapp, Johann, b. Vienna, Sept. 5, 1778, d. Vienna, Feb. 9, 1833, painter of floral motifs and still life. Designed patterns for the Vienna Wallpaper Manufactory, from 1804 royal painter (Kammermaler*) to Archduke Anton Viktor, for whom he executed numerous drawings of domestic and exotic plants in the "Dutch garden" of Schoenbrunn Palace. For Archduke Johann he painted a collection of more than 300 alpine plants and a collection of natural rose families.
