b. Vienna, Dec. 24, 1909, 
d. Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria), Aug. 16, 1997, Augustinian canon. 
Took his vows at the monastery of  Klosterneuburg in 1929 and was its 
provost 1953-1995. 1954-1987 Abbot-General of the Austrian Augustinian 
Congregation, 1962-1965 its representative at the 2nd Vatican Council. 
1956-1974 President of the Conference of Superiors of Male Orders and 
1968-1974 Abbot-Primate of the International Confederation of 
Augustinian Canons.
