Koenig, Otto, b. Vienna, Oct. 23, 1914, 
d. Klosterneuburg (Lower Austria), Dec. 5, 1992, zoologist, author, 
originally photographer, follower of K.  Lorenz. Together with his 
wife Lilli K. founded and became head of the Biologische Station 
Wilhelminenberg (Vienna), an institute of Comparative Ethology (1945). 
Major achievements in the protection of nature and wildlife in 
Austria; gained popularity with the television series "Wunder der 
Tierwelt". Undertook expeditions to Africa.
