Koller, Herbert, b. Woesendorf (Lower Austria), July 19, 1911, 
d. Krems (Lower Austria), April 27, 1995, manager, studied law in 
Vienna, started his career in 1948 as a clerk in the Austrian steel 
company VOeEST, advanced to become Director of the Huette Krems works 
(1955) and Director General of the VOeEST-Alpine group (1961-1977). 
Contributed considerably to the restructuring of the nationalized 
steel industry. Long-serving, high-ranking official in the Austrian 
Chamber of Commerce. 1980 appointed to the general council of the 
Austrian National Bank. 1981-1988 became its first Vice-President.
