!!!Koloman, Heiliger
Koloman, saint, feast day Oct. 13.,
d. near Stockerau (Lower Austria), July 17, 1012, Irish pilgrim. was
taken for a spy near Stockerau because of his strange clothing and was
hanged. His bones were brought to the monastery of Melk, where a
K.-cult soon developed and K. was worshipped as the patron saint of
Austria (since 1663 St. Leopold has been the patron saint of Austria).
There are 15 places of worship for K. in Austria ( Kolomannsberg
mountain).
