!!!Konrad von Megenberg

Konrad von Megenberg, b. Maebenberg (Germany), 1309, 
d. Regensburg (Germany), April 14, 1374, priest and scholar with 
varied interests; taught at the University of Paris (master 1334-1342) 
and was headmaster of the  Buergerschule zu St. Stephan in Vienna (in 
his function as Rector was in charge of all Viennese schools). 
Translated the "Sphaera mundi" by Johannes von Sacrobosco into German 
to make it accessible to the lay public and wrote the first systematic 
manual about nature in German (Buch der Natur, 1348-1350). 1348-1374 
worked in Regensburg.
