b. Vienna, Jan. 29, 1860, 
d. Vienna, April 23, 1919. Engineer, 1893/94 in charge of the 
construction of the mountain railroad on Graz Schlossberg. Was granted 
patents for a new type of building block in 1900/01, which he started 
producing under the name of "Matador" in 1903. Production continued 
until 1988.
