b. Wiener Neustadt (Lower Austria), Nov. 14, 1919, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 26, 1988, politician (OeVP, Austrian People's Party); 
father of Elisabeth  Bleyleben-Koren. 1945-1965 employed at the 
Institute of Economic Research, from 1965 university professor in 
Innsbruck, from 1968 professor at the Hochschule fuer Welthandel 
(later University of Economics and Business Administration) in Vienna. 
1967-1968 Staatssekretaer at the Federal Chancellery, 1968-1970 
Minister of Finance, drafted the economic concept of the OeVP 
("K.-Plan"), 1967; advocate of the Austrian hard currency policy, 
1970-1978 member of the Nationalrat and Chairman of the OeVP. 
1978-1988 President of the  Austrian National Bank.
