Kosel, Hermann, b. Vienna, March 20, 1896, 
d. Vienna, Dec. 12, 1983, painter, graphic artist. Studied under R.  
Bacher and F.  Schmutzer at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, 1925-1938 
member of the group around J.  Klinger. One of the most important 
exponents of the "Wiener Plakat" (Vienna poster design), exile in 
Aix-en-Provence in 1938-1949.
