Kothgasser, Anton, b. Vienna, Jan. 9, 1769,
d. Vienna, June 2, 1851, glass painter of the Biedermeier period
(idyllic Austrian style 1814-1848). 1784-1840 design painter at the
Vienna Porcelain Factory. Took up sheet glass and hollow glass

richly-coloured designs. Biedermeier glass beakers painted in opaque
