Die [Burganlage|https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wawel], ehemals Residenz der polnischen Könige, liegt auf einem Hügel über der Weichsel.
Historisch belegt ist, dass sich seit dem frühen Mittelalter an dieser Stelle eine Burg befand. Die komplexe Bebauung zeugt von einer über 1000-jährigen Baugeschichte. Dabei finden sich Zeugnisse aus allen Stilepochen wie der Romanik, der Gotik, der Renaissance sowie des Barock. \\ \\
