!!!Krapfenbäck, Simerl
b. Maria Saal (Carinthia), Jan. 16, 1785,
d. Liebenfels (Carinthia; shot while fleeing), Sept. 17, 1809, one of
Austria's two legendary robbers (see also: G. Grasel). Son of a
smallholder, fled from prison several times, lived in the Wolschart
Woods (Krappfeld) and caused harm to the Napoleonic troops in 1806 and
1809.
