Kratochwil, Heinz, b. Vienna, Feb. 23, 1933, 
d. Vienna, April 2, 1995, composer. From 1962 teacher at the Wiener 
Musikhochschule*, from 1980 professor of Composition. In his 
compositions he mixed elements of the late Romantic period, 
Impressionism and twelve-tone music as well as jazz and avant-garde. 
Vienna City Prize, 1987.
