Krauss, Friedrich Salomon, b.  Slavonsky Požega (Croatia), Oct. 7, 1859, 
d. Vienna, May 29, 1938, ethnographer, Slavist and sex 
researcher. Private scholar, writer and translator in Vienna; often 
met with hostility and was even persecuted because of his research 
into sexual behaviour. Belonged to the group around S.  Freud. Edited 
the magazines "Anthropophytheia" (10 vols.) and "Volksmund".
