b. Kraubath (municipality of Gross St. Florian, Styria), Aug. 6, 1903, 
d. Vienna, Sept. 8, 1985, lawyer and politician (OeVP, Austrian 
People's Party). 1934-1938 member of the Styrian provincial 
government; 1938 imprisoned, 1945-1949 Minister of Property 
Maintenance and Economic Planning, 1945-1951 member of the 
Nationalrat. 1949 resigned from office after allegations of abuse of 
authority, 1951 withdrew from the OeVP. Founded the Allgemeine 
Wirtschaftsbank, which went bankrupt in 1974.
