b. Vienna, Sept. 8, 1944, political scientist; daughter-in-law of B.  
Kreisky. Studied law at the University of Vienna, then political 
science at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Vienna, where she was 
head of the Department of Political Science 1979-1989. 1989-1993 
professor at the Freie Universitaet Berlin, since 1993 at the 
University of Vienna. Theory of the state and of bureaucracy, 
feminism, political theory and the history of political ideas are her 
main fields of research.
