politician (SPOe, Austrian Social Democratic Party). 1961-1967 
editor-in-chief of the "Arbeiterzeitung", 1967 editor-in-chief of the 
news department at the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). 1974 
Director of Programmes of the channel FS 2, 1984-1985 ORF Information 
Director (TV section), 1985-1987 Minister of Health and Environmental 
Protection, now free-lance journalist.
