b. Vienna, May 31, 1856, d. Berndorf (Lower Austria), April 
21, 1938, entrepreneur. Studied in Zurich, Berlin and Vienna and took 
over the family-owned Berndorf metal factory (esp. cutlery,    
Berndorf AG), which he continuously expanded and transformed into a 
successful business after World War I despite the difficult economic 
situation.
