Kunz, Alfred, b. Vienna, June 26, 1894, d. Vienna, Aug. 2, 
1961, painter, graphic artist, stage designer. From 1918 free-lance 
architect and draftsman, from 1922 set and costume designer at almost 
all theatres in Vienna (esp. at the Raimundtheater), also fashion 
designer, influenced Viennese fashion in the 1920s and 1930s. 1938 
Artistic Director of the "Wiener Haus der Mode" ("Vienna House of 
Fashion"), teacher and head of the "Wiener Frauenakademie" (from 1946 
Fashion School of the City of Vienna). Sets and costumes for films by 
W.  Forst.
