Kyrle, Georg, b. Schaerding (Upper Austria), Feb. 19, 1887, 
d. Vienna, July 16, 1937, prehistorian and spelaeologist, from 
1929 Professor of Spelaeology at the University of Vienna and head of 
the Institute of Spelaeology at the Ministry of Agriculture and 
Forestry. Founder of the renowned Vienna School of Spelaeology.
