d. Vienna, Jan. 12, 1940, jurist and economics expert. From 1896 civil 
servant in the ''Finanzdirektion'' in Prague, from 1898 in the 
Ministry of Trade in Vienna, appointed ''Ministerialrat'' in 1916; 
leading expert on issues of food supply and nutrition, from October 
31, 1918 until July 7, 1918 State Secretary for Food Supply, left the 
civil service in 1921 and was employed in private industry.
