!!!Laa, Wiener Bezirksteil
Laa, Oberlaa and Unterlaa, two former municipalities. The uninhabited
parts of Laa became part of the 10%%sup th/% district of Vienna in
1873, the inhabited parts followed in 1938 (definitively in 1954). Laa
used to be called Laach (Middle High German "la" = marsh). - There is
a Baroque parish church in Oberlaa (1746). Exploitation of a hot
sulphur spring since 1965, construction of a health resort (opened in
1974) which includes a park that was created in the course of the
Vienna International Gardening Fair in1974.
