Lang, Erwin, b. Vienna, July 22, 1886, d. Vienna, Feb. 10, 
1962; graphic artist. 1903-1907 studied at the Vienna School of Arts 
and Craft. Returned to Vienna from captivity in Russia (1920), became 
member of the  Hagenbund (artists' association founded in 1900) and 
Vienna  Secession (1949). Created numerous artistic settings and 
posters for his wife, the dancer Grete  Wiesenthal. Well known for his 
wood cuts distinguished by special light effects.
