b. Vienna, July 8, 1921, writer; has written 50 books for young people 
on diverse subjects. In his book "Die Maenner von Kaprun" 
(non-fiction, 1955) he drew an optimistic picture of cooperation 
between workers and engineers. Awarded the Austrian State Prize for 
Youth Literature in 1961.
