d. Vienna, July 3, 1921, physician, university professor in Vienna; 
1904 President of the Office of Weights and Measures, 1915-1919 
President of the Austrian  Academy of Sciences. Constructed a 
goniometer (instrument for measuring the angles between the faces of a 
crystal), a quadrant electrometer and a reflecting galvanometer.
