!!!Lassing, Gemeinde

Lassing, Styria, municipality in the district of Liezen, alt. 
782 m, pop. 1,910, area 37.14 km%%sup 2/%, south-east of 
Liezen. Mine for extraction of talcum powder, as well as grinding of 
talcum, sawmill. - Parish church (first documentary mention after 
1150, modern building around 1515), high altar with statues by B. 
Prandtstaetter (around 1730-1740). - On July 17%%sup th/% , 1998 
location of the most tragic mining accident in the Second Republic, 11 
miners were buried and 10 died.
