b. Blumenthal (municipality of Zistersdorf, Lower Austria), June 5, 1847, 
d. Purkersdorf, Lower Austria, July 3, 1905, cleric, writer and 
politician. Attached to the parish and provostry of the Votivkirche 
church in Vienna, from 1897 parish priest in Vienna-Ottakring. Active 
in the Christian-Social movement, member of the Municipal Council of 
Vienna 1889-1902, strongly advocated the creation and extension of 
social institutions for the working class.
