d. Baden, Lower Austria, Jan. 25, 1963, internist, brother of Hans  
Lauda. From 1943 Professor at Vienna University, from 1946 head of the 
1st Medical Department of the University of Vienna; considered one of 
the last few physicians to have knowledge of the entire field of 
medicine; focal points of his research were intestinal diseases and 
cortisone therapy.
