Lehrl, Josef, b. Waidhofen an der Ybbs (Lower Austria), 
April 26, 1894, d. Vienna, Nov. 11, 1957, educator and promoter 
of adult education. From 1945 at the Ministry of Education (1950 head 
of the department of pedagogy). President of the Association of 
Austrian "Volkshochschulen" (institutions providing adult evening 
classes, 1950); university professor of Pedagogy in Vienna (1956).
