Leithaprodersdorf, Burgenland, market town in the district of 
Eisenstadt Umgebung, alt. 196 m, pop. 1,043, area 
18.94 km%%sup 2/%, on the River Leitha in northern Burgenland, on 
the border with Lower Austria. - First documentary mention in 1232; 
archaeological finds of the Bronze Age, remains of a Roman 
fortification and a medieval mountain settlement 
("G´schloessl"); Avarian burial grounds (archaeological finds in 
the provincial museum in Eisenstadt). Baroque parish church (built 
around 1680, renovated in 1696); ruins of the medieval former parish 
church "Pfefferbuechsl"; Baroque wayside shrines. Sulphur spring 
southwest of the market town.
