Lerchenfeld, part of the 7%%sup th/%  and 8%%sup th/%  districts of 
Vienna; documented mention in 1295 (Lerochveldt); part of the area was 
acquired by the Court in 1337 as a hunting ground; settlement towards 
the end of the 17%%sup th/%  century. After 1700, town of 
Neulerchenfeld was founded (today in the 16%%sup th/%  district), 
since then Lerchenfeld has been called Altlerchenfeld ( Altlerchenfeld 
Church).
