b. Oberwart (Burgenland), May 31, 1933, law scholar and political 
scientist. Theoretician of Austrian socialism; first professor of 
Political Science in Austria (1971-1980, University of Salzburg). From 
1980 professor of Social Philosophy at the University of Vienna. Also 
specialised in the history of Austrian thought, head of one of the L. 
Boltzmann Institutes.
