!!!Leutascher Ache

Leutascher Ache River, Tirol, western tributary of the River Isar. The 
Leutascher Ache rises north of the Karkopf Mountain (alt. 
2,469 m), runs through the Wettersteingebirge Mountains and the 
Mieming Mountains, turns north in the area of Leutasch (alt. 
1,136 m) and joins the Isar near Mittenwald (Germany). The valley 
along the upper course of the Leutascher Ache is called  Gais Valley. 
The valley of the Leutascher Ache was cultivated by the monasteries of 
Wilten, Polling and Stams. The Leutasch gorge at the Bavarian border 
was fought over in 1805 in the course of the Napoleonic wars.
