!!!Lichtblau, Ernst

b. Vienna, June 24, 1883, 
d. Vienna, Jan. 8, 1963, architect. 1902-1905 studied under O.  Wagner 
at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna; professor at the advanced-level 
government trade school (Hoehere Staatsgewerbeschule) in Vienna; 1939 
emigrated to the USA, where he taught for 12 years at the Rhode Island 
School of Design. Although initially influenced by art nouveau 
(Jugendstil) L. became one of the main representatives of classical 
modernism.

(with L. Bauer and H. Glaser); semi-detached house Werkbundsiedlung 
housing estate, Vienna 13th district, 1930-1932; Hauptschule 
Grundsteingasse (school building), Vienna 16th district, 1962-1963 
(with N. Schlesinger).
