!!!Liebeneiner, Wolfgang

b. Lubawka, Poland (then Liebau), Oct. 6, 1905, 
d. Vienna, Nov. 28, 1987, actor, director, script writer; married to 
H.  Krahl; 1928 acting debut at the Munich Kammerspiele theatre; 
1930-1937 with H. Hilpert and G. Gruendgens at various theatres in 
Berlin, where he worked as a director. Film directing followed, in 
1937 head of the Arts Faculty, of the Babelsberg Reichsfilm Academy 
and 1942-1945 Ufa production manager. After 1945 he was briefly banned 
from working; then director at the Hamburg Kammerspiele theatre. In 
1956 also at the Theater in der Josefstadt, Vienna, and after 1964 at 
the Vienna Burgtheater. From 1962 opera director in Vienna, Zurich, 
Duesseldorf, Kassel and Gelsenkirchen; television series "Die 
Abenteuer des braven Soldaten Schwejk" (1970-1972 starring F.  
Muliar).
