b. Vienna, July 12, 1939, bank director. Started to work for the 
Genossenschaftliche Zentralbank in 1968 and became Member of the Board 
in 1977, from 1988-1995 Director General of  Raiffeisen Zentralbank 
Oesterreich AG and President of the Vienna Stock Exchange Chamber. 
from 1995-1998 President and since 1998 governor of the Austrian  
National Bank.
